Bali, 3 May 2013 - Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa is celebrating the success of its award-winning culinary team from the Salon Culinaire 2013 held on 10 - 13 April in Jakarta. The competition was divided into 25 culinary classes ranging from fruit, vegetable and ice carving to butter sculptures, live cooking competitions and table displays. The culinary team of Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa won a total of six medals and four certificates of merit.

03 May, 2013 - As part of its dedication to upholding quality service, the Bali Hotels Association (BHA) has partnered with mobile learning technology company Qooco to implement its first-ever staff language training programme. The leading hotel group, whose members include General Managers from more than 100 hotels and resorts in Bali representing almost 30,000 employees, will use Qooco?s online language learning programmes to improve their spoken Mandarin and English language abilities.

THE 1O1 Bali Legian have recently held a blood donation 1O1 Smart Living - Gives Blood, Save Lives campaign in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI BALI) and Bali Hotels Association, also supported by national and local media such as The Jakarta Post, Bali Daily and Bali Travel Newspaper as a part of their continuing efforts to help the local community. Over 198 participants has registered and donate their time and blood to save lives on last Wednesday 17 April 2013 during its first blood donation drive held at THE 1O1 Bali Legian ground floor in the Legian Meeting Room.

He comes to the island direct from The Westin Pune Koreagon Park in India where he was responsible for the implementation of authentic Italian cuisine at the award-wining Prego restaurant. Born in Colombia, South America to Italian parents, Chef Valerio enjoyed a multi-cultural childhood where good food was the focal point of his daily life. Upon graduating from a private culinary school in Rome, he went on to enhance his skills at a number of pizzerias and seafood restaurants in Rome. For the next few years Chef Valerio travelled extensively and accepted a succession of culinary roles in exotic destinations such as Brazil, Myanmar, Vietnam, India and the Caribbean. After exploring the world, learning about different cuisine styles and cultures, he decided to perfect his technique by returning to his Italian roots in a Michelin-starred restaurant in Sicily.
