Bali receives Double Blow - Oct 02, 2005
Bali Hotels Association (BHA) is shocked and saddened by the latest terrorist attacks. Our condolences and sympathy go out to those who have been affected by this tragedy BHA condemns this action. Fortunately no hotels have been affected and hotels are reporting ?business as usual? with a minimal amount of people leaving the island following the tragedy as reported by hotels and travel agents. Hotels are not as yet seeing any cancellations however do expect to receive some cancellations however nothing like the magnitude of the previous tragedy. -
Blasts in Bali - Oct 01, 2005
3 blasts went off in Bali just before 8pm on the 1st of October. Two are reported to be on the Jimbaran beach and one in Raja's restuarant in Kuta Square. The Goverment of Bali has been proactive and has been preempting the situation sometime ago to alleviate any risk of bird flu spreading to the Island of Bali. BHA has maintained close contact and communication with the department of livestock in Bali as well as WHO and PATA. -
Villa Fire - Sep 15, 2005
At 2.30am on the 15th of September there was a fire at Catur Kembar, a small villa complex in Jalan Kunti, Seminyak. The fire was caused by an exploding gas bottle and it destroyed 9 villas. All the guests were evacuated safely and there were no casualties. The villas were completed and opened in November 2004Download full story
