The Bali Spirit of Hope fund was established by Bali Hotels Association in October 2002 following the Bali bombing. The purpose of this fund raising was to raise funds to assist the Balinese victims and their families following the bombing.
This fund raising ceased in October 2003 with a total of Rp319,625,559 raised. (see our donor section for money received)
These funds were allocated as follows:
Rotary Club Nusa Dua - New Burns Operating Theatre at Sanglah Hospital
Rp 200,000,000 was given to the Rotary Club Nusa Dua which is working in conjunction with the Australian Bali Memorial Package of Assistance to improve Bali's Health system.
The project will include an Intensive Care Centre which will include
- Intensive Care Unit
- Cardiac Care Unit
- Burns Unit and Operating Theatre
- Associated Training

Sri Kandhi
Yayasan Sri Khandi was established as a direct response to the needs of women and children affected by the Bali bombing. This foundation specialises in supporting women.
Bali Hotels Association donated Rp35,000,000 to support all the equipment in the establishment of a beauty training centre in Renon (due to open in early 2004). This centre will operate as a business while training women in the basics of beauty treatment.
Indonesian Victims Family Day
On the First Anniversary of the Bali Bombing, in conjunction with the Bali Hati foundation, the Bali Hotels Association fully sponsored a Family Day for the Indonesian victims families at Waterbom Park & Spa in Kuta. Additionally, during their stay in Bali, Bali Hotels Association fully sponsored the families transportation to and from various events and activities arranged by Bali Hati Foundation.
